Emergency & Response
Do you really answer 24/7?
Yes. Call at 2 a.m. and you'll reach a real person, not a machine, who can dispatch a crew and walk you through what to do right now.
How fast can you get here?
We're based in the San Jacinto Valley and respond across Riverside County. Hemet and San Jacinto are our fastest runs and Palm Springs is our longest, and either way you'll get a real ETA on the phone. The sooner mitigation starts, the less the damage spreads.
What should I do while I wait for you?
If it's safe: stop the water source if you can reach it, avoid standing water near electricity, and don't throw damaged items away; they can be evidence for your claim. If anything feels unsafe, get out and call us from somewhere safe. We'll talk you through the rest on the phone.
What areas do you serve?
Hemet and San Jacinto plus Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula, Sun City, Winchester, Lake Elsinore, Moreno Valley, Riverside, Beaumont, Banning, and Palm Springs, all across Riverside County. Not sure if we cover your area? Just call and ask.
Should I turn off the electricity?
If water has reached outlets, appliances, or light fixtures, and you can reach your breaker panel without stepping in water, shut off power to the affected rooms. If you'd have to cross a wet floor to get there, don't. Stay clear and call us; we'll walk you through it.
What should I avoid touching after a fire?
As little as possible. Soot is acidic and smears permanently into walls, upholstery, and electronics when wiped with household cleaners. Don't run the HVAC, it spreads soot through the ducts, and leave damaged items in place; they're evidence for your claim.
Can I stay in my home during the work?
Often, yes. We contain work areas with sealed barriers and HEPA air scrubbers so the rest of the home stays livable. It depends on the scope, utilities, and air quality; we'll tell you straight during the walkthrough, not after.
Cost & Pricing
How much does water damage restoration cost?
It depends on how far the water traveled, how long it sat, and what has to be dried or removed, which is why we quote after a free inspection, not over the phone. For context, national data puts most water damage restoration between roughly $1,400 and $6,400. A sudden, accidental loss is commonly covered by insurance, and our documentation helps your claim cover the cost.
How much does mold remediation cost?
Nationally, mold remediation averages around $2,400, but the real driver is how far the mold has spread and how much containment the job needs. A small contained patch and a whole wet wall cavity are very different jobs. The inspection that tells you which one you have is free.
Do you charge for the inspection or estimate?
No. The inspection is free, and you'll get a clear scope of what we found, what needs to happen, and what it costs before any work begins.
Why not just rent fans and dry it myself?
Because the water you can see is rarely the problem. Moisture wicks inside walls, under flooring, and into framing where a box fan can't reach, and mold can start in 24 to 48 hours. Professional drying uses moisture meters to find hidden water and confirm the framing and subfloor are dry, not the surface on top.
Insurance
Do you work with my insurance company?
Yes, whoever your carrier is. We document the loss with photos and moisture readings, communicate with your adjuster, and advocate for a fair, accurate scope, so you're not navigating the claim alone.
Can you guarantee my claim will be approved?
No company can promise that. The decision rests with your insurer. What we control is thorough documentation, direct communication, and advocating for a fair scope, which gives your claim its strongest footing.
How does payment work?
After a covered loss you're typically responsible for your policy deductible, and your insurer covers the approved work. We'll walk you through what to expect for your situation up front.
What if my claim is denied or underpaid?
We can provide the photos, moisture logs, and a clear scope of work to support a reconsideration. The final decision is your insurer's, but a well-documented claim is far harder to dispute.
Who calls the insurance company, you or me?
You open the claim; only the policyholder can. From there we handle the rest: photos, moisture logs, a documented scope, and direct communication with your adjuster.
Does homeowners insurance cover mold?
It depends on the cause. Mold that results from a sudden, covered water loss, like a burst pipe, is often covered as part of that claim. Mold from a slow leak or long-term moisture is usually excluded. This is exactly where documentation of the cause matters, and it's the insurer's final call.
Is flood damage covered by my homeowners policy?
Usually not. Rising water from outside, storm flooding or runoff, is typically excluded from homeowners policies and needs separate flood insurance. Water from inside your home, like a burst pipe or failed water heater, is a different category and is commonly covered. We document the cause carefully because this distinction decides claims.
Our Work & Process
Are you licensed, certified, and insured?
Yes. Resolve Residential Restoration is licensed (CSLB #1114551), insured, and IICRC Certified (#70193059). We follow IICRC S500/S520 standards for structural drying and mold remediation, plus EPA guidance for mold. That's the industry standard for doing the work right and documenting it.
Do you do the rebuild too, or just the cleanup?
We handle mitigation: we stop the damage, extract and dry the structure, contain mold, and document everything, and the space goes back to you dry and opened up, ready for reconstruction. We coordinate a clean handoff to your rebuild contractor, or to our rebuild partner Iconic Floors & More Inc. if you don't have one; we don't do the finish rebuild ourselves.
How long does drying take?
For most homes it's about three to five days of monitored drying, verified by daily moisture readings rather than a guess. Every job is different. The answer is "until the meter says it's dry," not a fixed number.
Do you speak Spanish?
Sí, se habla español. Llámenos las 24 horas y con gusto le ayudamos.
What's the difference between mitigation and restoration?
Mitigation stops the damage from getting worse: extraction, drying, containment, documentation. Restoration or reconstruction rebuilds what was lost. We're a mitigation company; we handle the emergency phase completely and hand your rebuild contractor a dry space with the scope documented.
How fast can mold start growing after water damage?
In as little as 24 to 48 hours on wet drywall, wood, and fabric. That window is why fast drying matters more than anything else you do after a leak, and why we treat every water call with urgency.
Can smoke smell be completely removed?
Usually, yes, when the source is treated rather than masked. That means removing charred material, cleaning soot from surfaces with the method each material needs, scrubbing the air with HEPA filtration, and neutralizing odor at its source. Spraying air freshener over soot is how smoke smell becomes permanent.
Do I need to move my furniture out before you arrive?
No, leave it to us. We move, cover, or elevate what's in the work area as part of the job, and for bigger losses our contents pack-out service inventories and protects your belongings room by room.
